Trail Pass

The Alberta Beach Snowmobile Club developed and maintains 100 km of groomed, marked snowmobile trails between Alberta Beach and the Pembina River. The trailhead is at Alberta Beach and the trail sign markings begin just off the shore. There is a large map of the system at the staging area and with the aid of the trail maps that are available it is easy to find your way. It is a trail system to be proud of; the majority of the trail utilises undeveloped road allowances, waterways and some leased private land crossings. The trail connects Alberta Beach, West Cove, Darwell, Lake Isle, Pembina River and Lessard Lake making it convenient for most area residents to have easy access. Maps as well as trail passes are available at different area business locations. TRAIL PASSES are required for insurance purposes and private property can not be crossed without them.

Funds from the trail passes are divided as follows – Alberta Snowmobile Assoc. 20%, Snowmobile Club portion – 45% and Insurance 35%. At club level the funds are used to groom and maintain the trails and the pass covers all trails in Alberta. At the A.S.A. level funds are used in a broad range of provincial programs to promote safe and environmentally responsible recreational snowmobiling, to provide leadership and support to the club and to set policies and strategies to the clubs for the development of a safe system of trails. The remainder sustains A.S.A. itself.

The trail opens and is regularly groomed as soon as conditions allow and is designed for snowmobile use only.

The Alberta Beach Snowmobile Club is a volunteer and non profit organization with an average of 100 members and sells 200 plus trail passes a year as well as several day passes. The main purpose of the Club is to promote safe family snowmobiling through trail development, camaraderie, education and welcomes new members.
