Welcome back to another season of our online newsletter. If you are new here - we send out an email like this once a month from September to April. You'll find details on our events and programs below. You can unsubscribe at any time. We can't wait to get back into the 2026-2027 snowmobile season! The Farmers Almanac is predicting a fall with high precipitation, so we are hopeful that means a year with lots and lots of snow. We've already seen snowfall in the Alberta Rockies. :) To kick off the season, we're back with our freshly rebranded Alberta Powersports Show (previously the Alberta Snowmobile, ATV & Off-Road Show). There are lots of new things to see and do at the event. We also have a number of club rallies scheduled (dates are subject to change). If you haven't already, we invite you to renew your ASA membership on our website. Since we redesigned the website and have a new web host, you will need to create a new account with your email (even if you have logged in and purchased one in previous seasons). New this year at the Alberta Powersports show- This SNOWPLANE exhibit has been seen by over 14,000 people. You won't want to miss it. You may have heard about snowplanes, but if not, the vehicles were an important form of winter transportation used on the prairies from the 1930's to the 1950's. Snowplanes do not fly, they are "on ground" winter transportation that runs on skis powered by an airplane propeller in the back. Our Snowplane Display has two parts to it: 1. A History of Snowplanes Museum inside of a brand new 24 ft enclosed trailer. It features interactive displays about snowplanes, props and other snowplane memorabilia. 2. The restored 1947 Fudge "Snow-Sedan" is wheeled out and set up on the floor in front of the museum trailer so people can see the machine for themselves up close.
Changes to memberships This summer we launched our freshly designed and updated website. You can still find us online at www.albertasnowmobile.ca Since we switched our backend website host we are restarting our membership database. What this means for our returning members - You will need to create a new account if you haven't logged in to the new website after August 2026. You can use any email you choose to create your new account. After creating the new account you will be prompted to purchase your online membership for $80 or $90 if you choose to get a decal. You can now purchase the decal in the same transaction as your membership. Decals are optional. You'll be prompted to select a club at the time of purchase from a dropdown list. If you are not a club member you can select no club. Please get ahold of the ASA by emailing info@albertasnowmobile.ca or calling the office during business hours at 780.427.2695 Thanks for your support. As a not for profit, your membership purchases help us and our clubs to continue the progress of our trail system across Alberta.
It is recommended that Alberta youth and students take this valuable course on safe and responsible snowmobiling. Youth ages 13 & under are eligible to a discount code for a free membership to the ASA with proof of safety course completion. Welcome to the 2025/2026 Snowmobile Season! The executive and trail committee’s have been meeting for a couple of months already, and we are excited to send you this update.
This weekend, October 17 & 18 is the 2025 Alberta Snowmobile & Powersports Show! The club will be there in booth 41, come see us and find out what we have been up to, and what we have in the works for 2025/2026 season and beyond. There will be a draw box setup for 1 of 2 Dash Camera’s donated by JB’s Power Centers! Memberships are available for purchase and there is opportunity to purchase ASA Passes, passes this year are $100 before Jan 1 if you want a paper membership, or $80 if you buy online. Click the buttons below to get your ASA Pass, and club membership.
Our 2025 AGM is going to be held on November 8, 2025 at the Alberta Beach Heritage Center (50 + Club) doors will be at 5:30, the bar will be open, and we will provide food and snacks for all attendee’s. We will have a snowmobile race game setup for people to challenge each other, and maybe even some prizes for the winner.
Meeting will begin at 7pm with Elections to Immediately follow. This year we are seeking the following positions:

We have 2 confirmed trail work sessions for October.
The first one is on October 23 & 24 @ Stanger Hills. We have 2 stump grinders rented and will be going and taking care of several stumps. This is being lead by Kevin Jessup, please reach out to him (by clicking his name) if you can help.
The second is on October 25, meeting at Darwell School for 9:30am., this will be our annual “trail inspection” day, where we will break off into groups and tackle the trail sections and report back, this allows us to make an effective plan of attack to ensure the trails are “groomer ready” for when the snow flies. This work be will be lead by Craig Stephens please let him know if you can assist.
The ASA/AOHVA work safe policy requires Volunteers to be members of the ASA or AOHVA.

We are happy to announce that the Alberta Snowmobile ATV & Off-Road Show will back at the Edmonton Expo Centre October 17 & 18, 2025. Some clubs have chosen to close the trails - we ask that you respect this. You can view trail status updates on our online trail guide - https://asa.evtrails.com/# . This map continues to be updated every week on Thursdays - until all trails are closed. When trails close for snowmobiles it does not mean that trails open to other OHVs. Our FREE youth safety course is online for your convenience. We have educated hundreds of students of all ages since launching this course online. The course was designed for youth, however all ages are invited to attend. Take the course here: https://www.snowmobilecourse.com/canada/alberta/ If you have completed the course this 2024-2025 season you will be entered* into the draw. The contest will also include students who complete the course up until April 30. *Conditions apply: The draw will be done April 30, 2025. There are 16 tickets available.
